SADA Backs LPAC Process

The South Australian Dairyfarmers’ Association (SADA) fully supports the Levy Poll Advisory Committee (LPAC) in relation to its work reviewing the dairy industry's levy.

In July the LPAC recommended a poll be conducted of all dairy farmers to determine the future level of the dairy service levy. Following the recommendation, LPAC was required to determine the voting options which will go on the ballot to be voted on in March 2022.

The four (4) levy options to be presented in the levy poll are:

1. no change to the levy (status quo)

2. an increase of 15%

3. an increase of 20%

4. an increase of 25%

The LPAC is recommending an increase of 20%.

President John Hunt said the association backed the committee's process.

"SADA recognises the work of all members of the LPAC committee and completely supports the process it has undertaken to get to this point," he said.

"We look forward to the opportunity to vote in the new year and I strongly encourage any one eligible to vote to have their say next year.

"This is your industry and your money - you now have a chance to advise how you want the industry to move forward."
